    Plaquenil wbc

It's used to treat and prevent malaria infection, and to reduce symptoms and progression of autoimmune diseases such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and others. Malaria is spread by mosquitoes, which transmit the parasites that cause the infection, usually in tropical and subtropical parts of the world.

Dec 26, 2003 Plaquenil - Effects on Blood Tests especially platelet count This is my first post on the board. I was dx with Lupus in May, after being "treated" for idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura for three and a half years. Aug 14, 2017 Plaquenil is the brand name of hydroxychloroquine, a drug used to prevent or treat malaria 2. Plaquenil is also used for long-term treatment of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis RA and systemic lupus erythmatosis. Yes, Plaquenil can cause aplastic anemia, agranulocytosis, leukopenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia. So yes, this could be the cause of your WBC count going down, and for anemia that you have. Apart from that it can also be due to anti-thyroid cancer drugs.

For example, it may be combined with an antibiotic to treat chronic Q-fever, which humans usually catch from farm animals or raw milk. Plaquenil is used to treat other types of infections too.

Just a wee update on wbc, its up again for now. The rheumy Nurse spoke to the consultant and she has advised me to stay off the plaquenil for now although it doesn’t usually cause the wbc to drop. I have to get bloods done again in two weekand then monthly. Normal white blood cell WBC function and normal fibroblast function are necessary for a normal inflammatory response and wound healing. Multiple reports show that WBC and red blood cell precursor cell lines' intra- and intercellular biochemical reactions are blocked by LEF. PLAQUENIL hydroxychloroquine sulfate tablets is indicated for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, and discoid and systemic lupus erythematosus, in patients who have not responded satisfactorily to drugs with less potential for serious side effects.
